Overview

Rehat is a Chrome extension designed to help users understand how they spend time on websites and improve productivity through website usage analytics.

The extension follows a privacy-first design. Most data is stored locally inside the user's browser and is never transmitted to external servers.

Data Collected

Rehat collects only the minimum information required for its core functionality.

The extension does NOT collect:

Local Data Storage

All analytics data is stored locally inside your browser using the chrome.storage.local API.

Your browsing data never leaves your device. Rehat does not operate cloud databases or analytics servers.

Optional Newsletter Subscription

Users may voluntarily subscribe to the GlyIQ Newsletter.

If a user subscribes, the following information may be collected:

This information is sent to a Google Apps Script endpoint and stored in a private Google Sheet owned by the developer.

The data is used only to send newsletters or product updates related to the extension. Users may unsubscribe at any time.

Optional Uninstall Feedback

When uninstalling the extension, users may optionally submit feedback about their experience.

Selected reasons and written comments may be sent to a Google Apps Script endpoint.

Submitting feedback is optional and anonymous unless the user voluntarily includes personal information.

Permissions Used

tabs

Used to detect which website domain is currently active so the extension can track how long a user spends on that site.

Only the domain name is extracted. Full URLs, page content, and browsing history details are not accessed.

storage

Used to store website usage analytics and user settings locally on the user's device.

All stored information remains inside the browser and is not transmitted externally.

notifications

Used to notify users when they are approaching or have reached a daily website time limit.

Notifications help users stay aware of their browsing habits and maintain productivity.

alarms

Used to schedule periodic background updates so that browsing time is saved regularly.

This ensures tracking data is not lost if the browser closes or the extension becomes inactive.

Data Retention

Browsing data older than 30 days may automatically be removed from local storage.

Users can also manually clear all stored data from the extension settings at any time.

Third-Party Services

Rehat does not use advertising networks, analytics trackers, or third-party behavioral tracking services.

Google Apps Script is used only for optional newsletter subscriptions and uninstall feedback submissions.
